The hotel is located on the Buda side of the Danube with fine views over the river and the Parliament on the opposite bank. There is a tram connection to the Gellert area and a nearby metro station with direct links to the central shopping area.

The Artotel Hotel is a stylish property, which combines a 7-storey modern frontage with four 18th century baroque terraced houses, separated by a leafy courtyard/atrium. Like other “art hotels” which are extremely popular in Europe, it is dedicated to the art and design of a single artist, in this case American Donald Sultan. The spacious lobby incorporates a bar, lounge and art shop. In the 164 guestrooms everything from the carpets to the wall designs, china and artworks are by Sultan himself. Of particular note are the stainless steel washbasins and the decorative wrought-iron frames of the bathrooms. The hotel’s restaurant is situated on the ground floor with great views over the river to the Pest side of the Danube. The “Chelsea” restaurant is most stylish, offering first class cuisine in fantastic surroundings.
