Grand Hungaria Hotel
The hotel is located in the heart of Budapest, on the Pest side, minutes away from the main railway station and both the shopping and business districts. The nearest underground station is the Keleti-Palyaudvar. The hotel stands on a busy main road that runs from the station into town.

Grand Hungaria Hotel
The Grand Hungaria Hotel is housed in a traditional, terraced building with a colonnade along the ground floor. The spacious hotel lobby has a central seating area, plenty of shops and kiosks, as well as a small bar area. Although they are comfortable and pleasantly decorated, the 499 medium sized guestrooms could benefit from a little updating, particularly in their furnishings. The hotel’s Beatrix Restaurant serves Hungarian cuisine and specialities for lunch and dinner and offers a Continental buffet breakfast from 7:00 a.m. There’s also a lobby bar and an ice cream parlour.

Comment
The hotel itself was fine and the staff very helpful. We were recommended the hotel by a friend who frequently travels to Budapest on business and for this purpose the position is probably fine being close to the railway station and roads out of the city. However, despite the double glazing and being on the seventh floor, we found it very difficult to sleep due to excessive noise from the street which went on all night, constant police and ambulance sirens plus cars and commercial vehicles. The shops and sights are approximately 40mins walk away although there is public transport available from outside the hotel if you know where you are going!
Top Tip
Choose a hotel nearer the shops and sights. The Market Hall is a must to visit.
