Excellent all the way through. Could find no fault at all. Great location with views across to Buda and the Danube and Chain Bridge from our gorgeous room. Staff friendly and polite, nothing too much trouble. Well recommended.
Top Tip
Labyrinths on Buda side recommended as is the National Gallery and a look inside Hotel Gellert's baths and spa. St. Stephen's Basillica and the Grand Market Hall on the Pest side. Central Cellar (near C & A) for eating, lovely traditional atmosphere and food. Generally, just walking around and taking in the atmosphere. Good walking shoes recommended!

Recently refurbished. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast is great, the afternoon teas are as good. Lots of terraces for sitting out and eating.
Very close to everything.
Friendly and efficient staff.
Negative comments: No bathrobes or tea making facilities. (Which they have in the Intercontinental.)
Top Tip
Right on the Danube- has to be one of the very best "views" in the world. Just a stone's throw from Voros Marty Ter and the Gerbaud - a "has to be done" cake experience.
Do ride the No 2 tram - which runs all along the Danube.
Callas is a great dinner destination. Fantastic interior by David Collins. In a great location next to the Opera House.

No bathrobes in the room, but arrived immediately when asked for. Reception/Concierge rather inexperienced and with "attitude".
Top Tip
The Gresham foyer for a real architectural "WOW". The bar is good (but rather expensive). The Callas restaurant is also very stylish and special. The Gerbaud on Voros Mary Ter is the place for tea/coffee and the best cakes and ambiance.

There was no dressing gown, but when I requested one it was supplied very quickly. There was also no tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has its own bar and restaurant which are good and atmospheric.
Top Tip
Tea time is a treat. There is an excellent fish restaurant on the opposite corner "Ocean". Voros Marty Ter is very close with the wonderful Fin de Sicle Gerbaud coffe house as is the Gresham Hotel with its amazing architecture/interior and restaurant, cafe and bar. The Callas restaurant is also a not to be missed experience on the Andrassy Utca near the Oktogon.

Boon and Brass restaurant close-by. First class Hungarian cuisine and modestly priced. Excellant tram and taxi services always available and very cheap.

Who doesn't love a buffet breakfast! This location is on the waterfront on the Pest side, it is very handy to the city's sights with Buda a stroll away across one of the bridges, tourist shopping and local restaurants.
Top Tip
The covered market is a stone's throw away where you can attempt Hungarian goulash.

I had two problems:
1. They seem to have no facility to change foreign money - eg. euros, into florint
The TV sound was poor despite the high tech TV -i sent them a note
Top Tip
Dunacorso, 3 minutes away on the same riverside -has 'gipsy music' good cooking and was good fun.
The Meridian hotel, with its enthusiatic French chef is first class - perhaps unexpectedly and not well know?

Toscana Italian Restaurant just under Elizabeth Bridge walking towards Liberty Bridge-excellent but you need to reserve as very popular and authentic.

all rooms appear to have a river view. exterior of hotel ugly (grey concrete) however i knew this before going. Better looking from hotel to castle hill area rather than looking toward this hotel.
request for high floor granted.
Top Tip
